2K Sports has managed to avoid addressing the topic of downloadable content even after the plans for NBA 2K12’s were discovered a while back. The latest patch on the PS3 however (which is supposed to improve online but has done so to little result) has further exposed the DLC by adding nine trophies that are specific to it. Presumably the Xbox 360 will have these very same achievements tied to the DLC when it arrives. The trophies lay out more of what to expect when the paid DLC releases at an undetermined point in the future.Â
Below is the download screen that was found during NBA 2K12’s pre-release period and hasn’t surfaced since along with the new trophies that have been added. It’s a start at trying to get an idea of what features will come with the DLC and the new trophies help to define them a little more clearly. As stated before don’t expect the full ‘Crew’ mode to return in DLC – instead there is one mention made of using a My Player and it is through a 1-on-1 challenge. Also it remains unclear based on these trophies if full historic teams will be able to be used in standard online play or if it will be limited to the ‘challenges’ and Times Square setting. The trophies seem to concentrate on the offline aspects of the DLC instead.
