NFL Legends in All-Pro Football 2K8 revealed

2K Sports has updated their website for All-Pro Football 2K8. Listed are some of the details of the game as well as NFL Legends that will be appearing in it.

• The game will have over 240 legendary players. The pool of players will be used to draft a team. The legends are considered to be “in their prime” performance wise.

• The game will have a new broadcasting style that combines the a TV style broadcast with on-field commentary.

• Some of the legends who are listed: Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, Dick Butkus, John Elway, Dan Marino, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Johnny Unitas, Jerry Rice, Warren Moon, Archie Manning, Joe Theismann, Earl Campbell, Mike Singletary, Derrick Thomas, Marcus Allen, William Perry, Derrick Thomas, OJ Simpson, Brian Bosworth, and Mike Ditka.

It’s quite an impressive list considering 2K had to go and obtain rights to each player individually. Click the thumbnail below to see the faces that have been displayed.

The site mentions drafting your team from the group of legendary players. Does that mean the entire team is constructed of Legends? Or will a handful be sprinkled in within a team made up mostly of generic players? That is probably the biggest thing that people will be wondering now.

Having the Legends included is a good marketing move. The casual consumer base needs something to identify with and these famous NFL players from the past give them that.

The website also confirms the price of the game, which will be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3. No official release date has been set. It’ll be the standard $59.99
