Zack Snyder to Direct Superman Reboot

Warner Bros is going with Zack Snyder to direct the upcoming Superman reboot. Some earlier rumors pointed to Darren Aronofsky possibly taking it on and there were several other prominent names presumed to be in the mix. The studio has a great relationship with Snyder having housed 300, Watchmen, Legend of the Guardians, and the upcoming Sucker Punch.

Snyder is best recognized by his distinctive visual style and somewhat dark stories, which makes Superman an interesting project for him given its generally lighter tone. As someone who hasn’t really ever gotten into Superman, and really disliked the latest attempt at it, I’m instantly more intrigued due to Snyder’s involvement. That along with Christopher Nolan overseeing the project is good reason for optimism.
