With UFC 2010 Undisputed in hand I have gone through and timed different loading areas when running off the disc compared to running off the hard drive on the 360. Installing to the hard drive not only has proven to cut down on load times, in some cases significantly, but it also reduces stress to the system and the noise it produces. UFC 2010 has some lengthy load times in a bunch of areas and also stutters some throughout navigation. Installing to the hard drive brought noticeable improvement to both areas and may even steady the framerate slightly in fights.
Install Size- 6.2 GB
Install Time- 10:36
Loading Times
Load to Main Menu- :51 disc vs :39 hard drive (12 seconds)
Load into Exhibition Fight- :42 disc vs :33 hard drive (9 seconds)
Load out of Fight to Main Menu- :06 disc vs :05 hard drive (1 second)
Load into Saved Career- :17 disc vs :12 hard drive (5 seconds)
Load into Training Ground- :21 disc vs :16 hard drive (5 seconds)
Load into Sparring- :25 disc vs :18 hard drive (7 seconds)
Much of the time spent loading to the main menu is during the “connecting” phase to the server. The hard drive would have no impact there but it still sped up the process outside of that. As always it is recommended to install the game to the hard drive if you have the space. With UFC 2010 the improvements to the loading times are decent, navigating the menus and even the fights feel smoother, and possibly the biggest benefit is with the 360 running quiet and cool throughout the play sessions.
