In recent years 2K Sports has been ready with roster updates for NBA 2K in advance of and coinciding with the start of the regular season. That wasn’t the case with NBA 2K17 which has yet to receive its first update of the season even now into the fifth day of action.
It appears the ability to release roster updates is begin held up by an issue with the game. 2K has confirmed an upcoming patch should fix the problem and roster updates would then follow as promised. The company has not given an ETA on when to expect the patch but it would be reasonable to expect it to reach both PS4 and Xbox One within the next week or two.
Not having updated rosters, while understandably frustrating in all regards, is especially damaging to modes that are supposed to reflect the day-to-day of the league such as NBA Today and the new ‘Start Today’ for the two franchise modes. The next patch is also expected to try and fix the mass disconnects being experienced in 2K Pro-Am mode. It’s unclear whether the numerous other issues with the mode will also be addressed.
