It’s the week of The Masters and traditionally EA Sports’ latest golf game would be out in time to capitalize on the event. However when the delay was announced for Rory McIlroy PGA Tour, meaning it would be coming later in spring and miss The Masters, it became evident that the product would not feature Augusta. That has been confirmed today – not in any sort of release to media but through a few replies on Twitter.
@RebelGamer180 Unfortunately our license with Augusta National has expired. However, we'll continue to explore opportunities to include it.

@Tillyboy82 Hey Lewis, we have the ability to add content (including new courses) post-launch and we're exploring that option for Augusta.

The Masters has been the biggest draw for what was the Tiger Woods series since it debuted in Tiger 12. It really could be credited with saving the franchise which had been plummeting in sales for a few years. EA is in a really tough position losing both that and Woods from the series and it seems unlikely that it would be added later as DLC if the real reason for its absence is in fact licensing related.
