Game of Thrones Renewed for Third Season

Earlier this week HBO announced that they have renewed the hit series Game of Thrones for a third season. Just two episodes into the second season the show premiered to record ratings even surpassing the network’s high expectations. It was only a matter of time until it would be officially picked up. The third season will be based on the novel “A Storm of Swords” in the Song of Ice and Fire series which now has five installments and a sixth in the wings.
