If I honestly believed eye gouging was a commone occurance I'd quit watching football. I highly doubt though that players do something this dirty on the regular. Hitting a guy hard over the middle, helmet to helmet is one thing, but trying to reach into the facemask to basically try and blind a guy - that's fucking ridiculous. Guy should be suspended for the season AND prosecuted.

I believe he deserves a full year suspension. If a guy can get suspended for the full year for throwing a fist, I think he should get a whole year if not permanent ban for trying to rip someone's eye out.

but seriously there was an article in SI a few years back about what happens in dog piles and you'd be surprised what they do to get that ball. Theres nut grabbing, eye gouging, bending fingers backwards, you name it. Trust me a lot of players do it, even in high school.
