The new league year in the NFL began last Thursday of course being headlined by the opening of free agency. As usual, a number of big name players quickly agreed to deals with new teams or found themselves on the move via trade.
The Jaguars and Patriots stand out as winners so far. Jacksonville added three impact defensive players while the Patriots brought in Brandin Cooks for their first rounder, have found replacements for their losses, and hung onto Dont’a Hightower. On the flip side the Cardinals and Bengals have been hit hardest by departures, and the Chargers made Russell Okung the highest paid offensive tackle in the league yet there are 44 rated better than him in Madden.
