Even when selected #1, quarterbacks aren’t always the top rated players of their class when entering Madden. The learning curve, and potential that they may sit to begin their career, means positions like offensive tackle and wide receiver get an edge in early ratings.
That proves true again this year as it’s the #4 pick in the draft, Amari Cooper, who comes out on top for Madden NFL 16, though #1 pick Jameis Winston is right behind by only a single point. The #2 pick, Marcus Mariota, finds himself four points lower than Cooper. The sixth highest rated rookie, Dante Fowler, sadly won’t even play this season after suffering an injury on the first day of rookie minicamp. What do you think of these first ratings for Madden NFL 16?
