In a case of incredibly unfortunate timing, considering the EA PGA Tour news this morning, at practically the same moment that news broke HB Studios announced that The Golf Club will be getting a retail release on April 28. Actually, we’re left to assume that and find the listings on retail sites, since the press release from the company didn’t specify much of anything about the product including how it will differentiate itself from the digital versions.
The Golf Club Collector’s Edition will be out for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 28 and at a price of $40 if retail sites are to be believed. The Golf Club originally released on XB1, PS4 and PC last August for $35 but was available only as a digital download. The planned retail release was discovered in January when GameFly listed it and for the same April 28 date.
The “Collector’s Edition” will include all the feature updates that have been made for the game to-date as well as the “Season Mode” (Career) which is still being worked on and expected to roll out to those who have the game digitally in May. Unlike previous updates that one will not be free to digital owners though a price yet to be determined.
