For years rumors and talk among the cast of HBO’s Entourage, which ran from 2004-2011, has centered on the likelihood of a movie coming together. That has finally come to fruition as all the primary actors have signed on. The expectation is to begin filming in January.
A few years ago executive producer Mark Wahlberg discussed a potential plot line for the movie:
“In the trailer, you see [Ari and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened. It would be pretty cool!†… “I just think we can make a great movie. I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they’ve always wanted more. I think we’re going to do it. We just have to end strong, and this season is, by far, the best season so far.â€
The first couple seasons of Entourage were great but it really tailed off after that. Disappointing storylines were coupled with extremely short episodes that made them even less satisfying. The potential to recapture some of that early magic however would seem to be there with a feature film.
