At Comic-Con Marvel announced Avengers: Age of Ultron as the follow-up to the 2012 superhero team-up that became the third highest grossing movie of all-time. The story will mine a recent 10-issue comic crossover featuring the return of Ultron and his attempt to take over Earth.
Now the studio has revealed that Emmy award winner James Spader will take on the role of Ultron. How he will play Ultron, a robot that some expected to be evolved from Tony Stark’s Jarvis AI, remains unclear. Considering the official release from Marvel stated he is “playing” him rather than “voicing” him it may be also involve performance capture.
The Avengers: Age of Ultron will release on May 1, 2015. It follows Thor: The Dark World on November 8, Captain America: The Winter Solider on April 4, 2014, and Guardians of the Galaxy on August 1, 2014.
