Though NBA Live 14 first was unveiled back at E3 only a dribbling exhibition with Kyrie Irving was from the actual game while the trailer was pre-rendered. Today EA Sports made official Irving as the cover athlete – even though that has been essentially known for two months now – and with the announcement came the first in-game footage from the next-gen title.
Though brief it’s another step on the way to discovering more about the game which has some flexibility in that it does not have to avoid conflicting with the rollout of a current generation version. A fair amount about Live is already out there regarding the Ignite Engine, dribbling system, that it’ll feature legends, and offer hourly roster updates. However for obvious reasons most consumers will remain hesitant to believe in the game until 5-on-5 footage arrives and shows how the product stacks up to expectations.
