Sequel to World War Z Going Forward

Paramount is green lighting a sequel to World War Z according to The Hollywood Reporter. Based on the 2006 novel of the same name World War Z was initially planned as the start of a trilogy but dramatic changes to the final third of the film provided a more closed ending.

World War Z had some huge troubles during development – which were well publicized leading to some horrifically bad buzz until positive reaction to screenings started to turn the tide – and ended up with a budget that was bloated to nearly $200 million. Worldwide it has already collected over $112 million in just a few days of release. The domestic opening weekend of $66 million was the biggest of Brad Pitt’s career.
