Madden NFL 13 Loading Time Analysis

Loading times for the Madden NFL series have always been lengthy – though not nearly to the extent some other sports titles such as NCAA Football and MLB: The Show have been plagued by. A new menu system this year for Madden NFL 13, which is also somewhat sluggish, may be contributing to even longer load times.

Load into Play Now Game- 44 seconds disc vs 40 seconds HDD (4 seconds)
Leave Game to Menu- 12 seconds disc vs 8 seconds HDD (4 seconds)
Load into Practice- 41 seconds disc vs 32 seconds HDD (9 seconds)
Load into Connected Career- 14 seconds disc vs 10 seconds HDD (4 seconds)
Load into Madden Moment- 41 seconds disc vs 36 seconds HDD (5 seconds)

Compared to Madden NFL 12 the load times are 5-10 seconds longer in pretty much every area. The savings by installing are clearly negligible here – less significant than the benefits found in previous years. Installing to the hard drive is recommended for the reduced noise and wear and tear put on the system in addition to any improvements seen in loading times.
