Regarding NCAA Football 13 there was a desperately needed positive shift in momentum that coincided with EA Sports rolling out presentation and gameplay news. Now with the same details recently made available for Madden NFL 13 the opportunity presents itself to check the temperature on that title as well.
In terms of gameplay both titles announced similar enhancements – things like additional pass trajectories, improved play action, and read-and-react defensive AI. Where Madden has made a stronger push in early news is with presentation including a brand new broadcast team of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms, improved pre-game intros, new graphics package, a live ticker – and there appears to be some sort of studio show on the way as well.
The next big Madden push will come with the press conference on June 4 heading into E3 when “Connected Careers” and the supposed “monumental change to gameplay” will be announced.
