Fox Picks Up New Girl for Full Season

Last year the first full season pickup and renewal came from Fox who was pleased enough with the ratings for the comedy Raising Hope to extend their commitment. The same thing has happened this year except for what is a ratings smash with the comedy New Girl. Fox has granted it 11 additional episodes taking it to a full season order of 24.

New Girl debuted with the highest rated sitcom premiere for the network in 10 years. With just two episodes having aired it now stands as Tuesday’s top rated show and pulls in numbers even bigger than it’s lead-in Glee. Starring the completely charming Zooey Deschanel the show focuses on her character Jess, recently having broken up with her boyfriend, who moves into an apartment with three guys.
