EA Sports has begun to lay out the cover athletes for FIFA 12 of which the combinations will vary based on country or region. In what is certainly the most confusing roll-out of cover athletes in memory FIFA 12 will once again feature Wayne Rooney on the cover along with stars specific to their region. Rooney stays as the face of the franchise appearing on all covers despite a high profile sex scandal while announcer Andy Gray was replaced after a sexist comments led to his dismissal from Sky Sports.
The lineup for North America and some other countries won’t be revealed until next month. For the first time however Wayne Rooney will appear on the cover in North America while being joined by two others.
Rooney along with Kaká will be joined by Jack Wilshere in the UK, Mats Hummels in Germany, Giampaolo Pazzini in Italy, Philippe Mexès in France, and Gerard Piqué in Spain. The following line-up is all the stars thus far announced to be playing a role in FIFA 12 whether that be on the cover or in marketing campaigns.
