THQ announced today that The Rock is being offered as a preorder incentive for WWE 12. This offer appears to be across all retailers including Gamestop and Amazon (360, PS3). Currently Gamestop is also offering exclusive attire for The Miz but hopefully Amazon comes through with a promotional credit as they have with other upcoming titles which would easily trump that.
WWE 12 is said to deliver new animation and submission systems, highlight reels and sharing of created wrestlers, enhanced broadcast presentation and graphics, and improvements to the core modes. Randy Orton is the cover athlete for the series which has dropped the ‘Smackdown vs Raw’ branding in favor of the more traditional yearly titling and will release on November 22nd.
On the surface it’s somewhat surprising to see such a hugely relevant individual being placed as a preorder incentive but in this case it makes sense. The Rock isn’t an active participant in WWE programming but is still playing an occasional role with the company and his popularity will get many who may have not felt the need to preorder to do so.
