It’s amazing how well the original Jurassic Park still holds up today. Its sequels, though not as highly regarded, were both successful and entertaining. Combined the three movies have grossed over $1.9 billion worldwide. The idea of a fourth JP film has been talked about for a long time and now Steven Spielberg has confirmed it is not a matter of if but when.
At the Comic-Con panel for his upcoming film The Adventures of Tintin Spielberg stated that he’s hopeful to have Jurassic Park 4 made in the next “two to three years” but Paramount may want it even sooner than that for a 2013 release. A story is in place but work on a finalized script has yet to begin. It will be penned by Mark Protosevich (I am Legend, Thor, and the upcoming Oldboy remake).
