NCAA Football 12 Hard Drive Evaluation

The NCAA Football series has been one of the biggest culprits regarding lengthy loading times and laggy navigation amongst sports games this generation. It remains a frustration even with NCAA Football 12 however installing to the Xbox 360 hard drive does alleviate some of the wait time and allow it to run smoother overall.

Install size- 6.2 GB

Loading Times
Boot to main menu- 69 seconds disc vs 60 seconds HDD (9 seconds)
Load into Play Now- 52 seconds disc vs 33 seconds HDD (19 seconds)
Load into Play Now w/ Teambuilder- 59 seconds disc vs 44 seconds HDD (15 seconds)
Leave Game to Menu- 18 seconds disc vs 13 seconds HDD (5 seconds)
Load into Practice- 31 seconds disc vs 22 seconds HDD (9 seconds)
Load into Saved Franchise- 6 seconds disc vs 5 seconds HDD (1 second)
Load into Saved Road to Glory- 8 seconds disc vs 6 seconds HDD (2 seconds)

The initial boot up is actually longer than last year by about 10 seconds. Everything else is comparable showing that progress still hasn’t been made in this area. Installing to the hard drive is recommended for the reduced noise and wear and tear put on the system in addition to any improvements seen in loading times.
