James Spader Close to Becoming New Boss on The Office

The search for the replacement for Steve Carrel on The Office may be nearing its conclusion. Last year’s finale introduced a number of prospective new bosses for the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin. Though fan response was split amongst the respective candidates the favorite coming out of it looked to be James Spader and he is now in talks to join the show full-time.

According to TVLine however he may be in that spot only temporarily. The character of Robert California is unlikely to be satisfied as the Regional Manager and may move on up the ranks and become the CEO. That would then leave the position open once again possibly for one of the other candidates that rotated through the interview process in the finale.
