EA Sports today released the official cover art for Madden 12 and detailed a special edition of the game featuring Marshall Faulk on the cover. The “Hall of Fame Edition” will have a limited run of 125K copies and release on August 30th alongside the standard version of the game. Faulk – the Madden 2003 cover athlete – is being inducted into the Hall of Fame this year.
In the HOF Edition, you get the Premium bronze, foil embossed cover featuring Marshall Faulk, the Full version of Madden NFL 12, a hand autographed Marshal Faulk Panini Card, and an exclusive Madden Ultimate Team Platinum pack featuring a combination of 13 NFL Hall of Famers and former Madden NFL cover athletes. The Hall of Fame Edition will be available on August 30th for the retail price of $89.99.
Cleveland Browns running back Peyton Hillis won the cover tournament with ease defeating Michael Vick in the finals. The “Hall of Fame Edition” would seem to be more of a novelty than anything for an extra $30, though considering how much some spend on Ultimate Team mode those consumers may have some interest in the card pack. It’s still asking an awful lot without providing much value in the package. Three new screenshots of Faulk from Ultimate Team can be found in the gallery. Continue on to check out the box art for both the standard and HOF versions of the game and leave your thoughts in the comments!
