On April 29th new downloadable content will be released for Kinect Sports that introduces a game mode called “Calorie Challenge”. Focusing on burning calories through a series of activities against food-centric avatars there will be an additional 250 achievement points and two new avatar awards included.
In the new Calorie Challenge Mode, your favorite lunch foods and snacks will take the forms of your Avatar Calorie Rivals. Compete against Peppy Pizza, Supersonic Soda and others, as each food mascot represents a calorie goal to burn off through a series of challenges set within an allotted time period. - Blazing Banana (92 calories), Chocolate Challenger (416 calories), Mighty Milk (198 calories), Peppy Pizza (302 calories), Steady Celery (25 calories), Supersonic Soda (133 calories)
Back in December Kinect Sports got free DLC that added six mini-games. The “Calorie Challenge” however will go for 320 MS points ($4). While I’m not sure if the content warrants the cost it is still nice to see arguably the best Kinect game continue to get post-release support.
