FX Cancels Lights Out

FX has announced that the original series Lights Out will not be returning for a second season. The final two episodes of season one will air as scheduled however. The well received series simply didn’t have the ratings to justify its renewal, with recent episodes pulling only a .3 in the critical 18-49 demo, so the news does not come as a surprise.

Lights Out joins Terriers which again while critically well received never established a large enough audience on FX despite a passionate fan base. It might be all for the better in this case. Lights Out has been great, but even in this first season it has come up against the limits of believability at times and its tough to imagine where they could have taken the story in a second season.
