Henry Cavill Cast as Superman

Warner Bros. has announced that British actor Henry Cavill has been cast in the iconic role of Clark Kent in the upcoming Superman reboot. He was reportedly was in consideration for the role back when Superman Returns was being cast and has also been amongst the finalists to play Batman and James Bond. Cavill is probably best known for his roles in Stardust and the Showtime series The Tudors.
Superman is directed by Zack Snyder and written by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) on an idea that came from him and Christopher Nolan. December 2012 is the release frame being targeted though a date has yet to be announced.
