A new adaptation of Wonder Woman has been rumored for years to be headed for the big screen or even television but has never been able to get off the ground. Lately the most promising project has been a television series from David E. Kelley (Chicago Hope, The Practice, Ally McBeal, Boston Legal). It was taken to all the networks early this month and subsequently turned down primarily due to licensing costs involved.
NBC however was the most interested and despite passing earlier has now decided to pick up the series. This take on Wonder Woman is said to be a serious, non-campy reboot of the story and the character. Now the next big question to be answered is who will play the coveted role. If all goes well the series could debut in the fall.
