Californication Renewed for Fifth Season

Showtime has announced that Californication has been picked up for a fifth season. The series has been a consistent winner for the network and the current showrunner believes there is no end in sight and they’ll keep it going as long as they can. Production on the 12 episodes for season five will begin in spring to debut early next year.

The news comes only one episode into the new season. The season four premiere last week delivered a series high premiere rating and even more impressively that was without the benefit of having Dexter as its lead-in for the first time.
