Sony Releasing Limited Edition MLB 11: The Show Controller

Scheduled for a timed release alongside MLB 11: The Show is a limited edition DualShock 3 wireless controller. It will be available the same day as the game, March 8th, and sell for $54.99. That is the same MSRP as any other version of the DualShock 3 however cheaper deals can be found for those at various retailers. It is uncertain how “limited” a number of controllers will be produced but it appears once the initial supply is exhausted that will be it.

If the above image released by Sony represents the final design and I was in the market for a new DualShock 3 I would probably give this one consideration due to its subtle and clean look. Often limited edition designs go overboard becoming tacky and after a while the novelty wears off. Though branded as an MLB 11: The Show controller it doesn’t have the name plastered on it essentially just making its a baseball themed controller which works longer term.
