Miramax Prepping a Bunch of Sequels

In a surprise announcement this morning Miramax laid out some preliminary plans to produce sequels to a large number of their properties. Potential films mentioned for sequel treatment include Clerks, Swingers, Bad Santa, Rounders, Shakespeare in Love, Bridget Jones’ Diary, From Dusk Till Dawn, Copland, and others. There is also the thought that some could be adapted into television series down the line as well.

I’d be pretty excited to get sequels to many of those movies, but only if the important parties to the originals were to return. Swingers, Bad Santa, and Rounders in particular I would love to hear were being produced however I couldn’t imagine interest being high if the principle stars of those films didn’t return to their roles.
