Next weeks represents the unofficial beginning of the fall television season with the first few new shows and a couple others returning. The big networks roll out the majority of their shows the week of 9/20 but here is what to look forward to next week.

The Vampire Diaries (CW)
Breakout hit and CW’s highest rated show kicks off its second season (8PM)

Nikita (CW) NEW SHOW
A continuation of the 1990 film La Femme Nikita starring Maggie Q (9PM)

Sunday
Sunday Night Football (NBC)
Week one of the NFL season – Washington Redskins hosting the Dallas Cowboys (8:15 ET)
