Christoph Waltz Rumored To Play Villain In Next ‘Spider-Man’

The Playist blog is reporting that Sony is interested in Christoph Waltz to play the villain in the next Spider-Man. If the rumor is true, Waltz will play Curt Connors (The Lizard).

A rumor we heard earlier this week, but neglected to report (because it seemed a little thin), has been validated. Well, sort of. Earlier this week we heard that Sony is interested in “Inglourious Basterds” star Christoph Waltz for the villain character in Marc Webb’s 3D reboot of “Spider-Man.” The same piece of information is now in this week’s pages of Production Weekly: Sony interested in Waltz (presumably this is the Lizard if the rumors are correct).

Waltz is no stranger to taking on the role of the villain. Many might remember him from Inglourious Basterds and he is also playing the villain in the upcoming Green Hornet. Spider-Man is scheduled to hit theaters July 3, 2012.
