It has only been 12 days since the news broke that Edward Norton would not be returning to play Bruce Banner (aka The Hulk) in The Avengers. Rumors quickly started stirring about who would take on the role. After a few days it became clear that Mark Ruffalo was the guy Marvel was targeting and it was just about hammering out the contract details.
Word comes today that Ruffalo has agreed to play Hulk in The Avengers and also it would mean he has agreed to appear in future Marvel films (though that doesn’t mean necessarily more Hulk movies but that the studio has him hooked if they so choose to use him). As has been the speculation Marvel wanted to get things locked up for the full cast to appear during their panel at Comic-Con. It appears that now they will be rolling out Ruffalo and making it official tomorrow.
