Since the release of The Dark Knight nearly two years ago, there has been plenty of speculation and rumors concerning the villains for the next ‘Batman’ film. What happens with ‘The Joker’ after The Dark Knight ends is left open and nobody is really sure. We know he doesn’t die, so we were left to believe he’d make an appearance in the third film. The speculation can now stop since Christopher Nolan has told Empire Magazine that he will not be in the next ‘Batman’. Obsessedwithfilm.com has the story:
“Noâ€, says Nolan emphatically and unhesitatingly. He resists elaborating simply because, quite understandably, he says, “I just don’t feel comfortable talking about itâ€.
Well there you have it. I’m actually glad he will not be in the next film. I think Heath Ledger did such a great job playing the character, it would have tough for any actor to fill the role. That’s not to say it couldn’t be done, but does anyone really want to see a new actor playing the role? We can now scratch ‘The Joker’ off the list as possible villains in the next film.
