2004’s Blade:Trinity was the last time we saw Wesley Snipes on the big screen as the vampire slayer ‘Blade’. And let’s just say that was easily the worst of all three ‘Blade’ films. Arrow in the Head had the chance to talk with Snipes about a fourth ‘Blade’ film and if he’d be interested in reprising his role as the ‘Day Walker’.
While out pimping the film at a recent junket, AITH scored this exclusive scoop from Snipes about the possibilities of a fourth BLADE movie: Snipes said that there has been some talk about a Blade 4 and that he would be interested if the script was right.
I’ve always felt Blade was underrated as a comic movie. I thought Snipes was excellent as the character and thought his background in the martial arts really helped him in the role. The first two films combined action, great weaponry, and vampires to the tune of $70 million and $82 million respectively. It should be interesting to see how this all plays out. Let’s not forget Snipes actually sued New Line Cinema and director David Goyer (Blade: Trinity) for allegedly not paying him his full salary. One thing is for sure though, more Snipes and less Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel would be excellent.
