The 19th season of Survivor concludes tomorrow night in the two hour finale of Survivor: Samoa followed by the reunion show. This has been a highly entertaining season based almost solely on one man. Russell has run the game and created some of the most memorable moments in the history of Survivor.
While Russell has played hardest and deserves to win anything can happen. If he does reach the end he will have to sell himself to a jury which has a Galu majority. With four Foa Foa members and just one Galu left he could eliminate that problem by getting rid of Brett.
Brett was virtually absent from this season until the last two episodes. That editing to me suggests he won’t make it to the end. He’ll have to win the next two immunity challenges to have any chance at that. Pulling off an epic stretch of immunity wins would probably have been foreshadowed earlier on.
Then there are the three other Foa Foa members who have basically just cruised by sticking with Russell in their alliance. Natalie has probably influenced the game more than Jaison and Mick. The smart move for any of them would be to take Russell out but they all seem to feel they’ll be with him at the final two.
Prediction: Russell and Mick face-off in the finals. Russell may be seen as the villain but in most cases the juries have shown they put emotion aside and choose the best player. I think Russell will win it. Without him this would have been a boring season but actually turned out to be one of the best.
Season 20 will pit Villains vs Heroes with contestants returning from previous seasons. That should be especially interesting with lots of familiar names coming back. The first attempt at an All-Stars season was generally viewed as a disappointment.
